Version control

Inhoudsopgave

Introduction

In the dashboard menu, you'll find the "Version Control" section. Version control allows you to roll back the website to a specific point in time. This will undo all changes made in the CMS in the meantime. You could use this functionality if, e.g., you accidentally deleted a wrong page or section. Or made a series of changes that turned out to be unnecessary. Then you don't have to restore all of them manually, but you can go back to the moment before you made those changes with the push of a button.

Version control overview

The version control overview lists all changes made to the website. These are organized by month (on the left side of the overview), by day and by hour (on the right side of the overview). Clicking on a specific hour opens a list of all changes made in that hour, including the name of the user who made the change.

Clicking the 'Go back' button that appears after the respective change will take you back to the version of the website at that time. Please note that anything done after that time will be reverted!

Points to consider

Before using version control, check:

  • Have changes been made by other people? And if so:
  • Were those changes made after the time I want to rollback the site to? If so, the changes made by the other user will also be reverted!
